The purpose of this Fundamentals of Program Management course is to introduce the government program management environment, provide an understanding of the major processes, and establish a foundation for effective program management.  The course is designed to provide:

  • An understanding of policies, tasks, problems, and issues confronting the government program management team. 
  • The importance of interpersonal relations and communication skills in the development of an effective program management team. 
  • And an understanding of the major program management activities in a government program and of the need to integrate these activities throughout the program's life.  

This course is taught on and off-site.  Our on-site facility is located in Arlington, VA, in Crystal City near the Metro stop.  Tuition includes a course manual and refreshments  in the morning.

Method of Instruction

The principal classroom methods will be interactive lecture/discussion and case exercises.  Participation and discussion are integral to each session.  Participants will use Lesson Objectives and Desired Learning Outcomes form each lesson assignment sheet to focus their efforts in preparing for classes and the discussions.
